Ken Griffin's Mega-Cap Picks: Microsoft, Amazon, Apple Rated
Citadel holds three mega-cap giants, but valuations diverge sharply. Here's where Griffin's conviction may be misplaced.
Ken Griffin's Citadel isn't shy about swinging big. Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple sit as anchor positions in one of the most closely watched hedge fund portfolios on the planet — but holding all three right now isn't the same as believing in all three equally. At current valuations, these names tell very different stories.
Microsoft remains the AI infrastructure bet that's hardest to argue against. Its deep integration across enterprise software, cloud, and now Copilot puts it in a category where premium pricing feels at least partially justified. If you're holding, this one has the clearest fundamental runway. The risk is that the market has already priced in a lot of the upside, so don't expect monster returns from here without a fresh catalyst.

Amazon is the one traders keep underestimating. AWS re-acceleration and a leaner cost structure mean the earnings story is finally catching up to the stock price. The valuation isn't cheap on a trailing basis, but on a forward free-cash-flow read, there's still room to run. This is the name where Griffin's conviction looks most timely right now.
Apple is where the valuation conversation gets uncomfortable. Services growth is real, but hardware refresh cycles are slowing and the AI narrative around the iPhone hasn't yet translated into the kind of upgrade supercycle bulls were banking on. At a premium multiple with decelerating top-line growth, a painful re-rating isn't out of the question. That's a hold at best — and a trim if you're overweight.
Bottom line: not all mega-cap is created equal, even inside the same institutional portfolio. Know which of these you own and why — because the reason Griffin holds them may not match your own risk tolerance or time horizon. Continue reading at Yahoo.
